Why Become Certified?
You may be an experienced dance teacher with an established following of students and are asking yourself "why do I need to be certified?"
Perhaps you're a brand new teacher, or have only thought about a career as a professional ballroom dance instructor. The DVIDA syllabus manuals, videos and certification exams give you the opportunity to learn from the best with the most up-to-date materials available.
Since there are no licensing requirements for dance teachers, it can be difficult for students to recognize the differences between one teacher and another. As dance professionals we must be willing to continually make changes and improvements in order to keep up with the public's demand.
With the ever-increasing popularity of Ballroom Dance and DanceSport, employers and students alike will begin to expect that professional dance instructors adhere to a certain standard of quality and experience.
Some of the world's most widely recognized teachers and champions have contributed ot the development of the DVIDA syllabus, giving you the assurance that DVIDA certification will send a clear message to studios and students worldwide of your determination to meet this challenge head on.
The DVIDA examination process is administered with the highest standards of fairness, impartiality, thoroughness, and professionalism. Your examination will be prepared in advance, according to a system of universal standards of excellence for the dancing industry.
DVIDA is a member of the National Dance Council of America, which means your Professional Certification will be recognized by the NDCA.
